Individual Counselling In Montreal
One-on-one sessions for adults navigating anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and chronic stress, including the lasting impact of difficult experiences. A structured approach focused on reducing distress, strengthening emotional regulation, and building more effective ways of responding.
You've been managing it on your own for a long time. And it’s not getting better.
You're functioning, going to work, keeping up with your life, doing what needs to be done. But underneath that, something isn't shifting. The anxiety keeps returning. The same thoughts keep cycling. The same patterns keep playing out. You've tried to push through it, understand it, manage it on your own. And you're tired of arriving at the same place.
When you notice patterns like…
Anxiety that returns no matter what you do to manage it
Intrusive thoughts that feel impossible to dismiss or turn off
A sense of being stuck, knowing what's wrong but unable to change it
Overthinking that spirals before you can catch it
Emotional reactions that feel out of proportion and hard to understand
Chronic stress or burnout that doesn't lift even when things settle down
A feeling that you've already tried everything and nothing has lasted
What is Individual Counselling?
Even self-aware, capable people can reach a point where insight alone isn't enough.
Individual counselling provides a dedicated space to focus on the concerns that matter most to you. While many people seek support for anxiety, others come to counselling because they feel overwhelmed, stuck in recurring patterns, navigating a difficult life transition, struggling in relationships, or finding it difficult to cope with the demands of everyday life.
Rather than focusing on a single concern, individual counselling allows for a broader exploration of what is contributing to distress and what may help create meaningful change. Sessions are collaborative, structured, and tailored to your specific needs, with an emphasis on increasing self-awareness, developing practical coping strategies, and improving day-to-day functioning.

Approaches Used In Individual Counselling
Individual counselling is not tied to a single method. Sessions are adapted to the concerns you bring and the strategies most likely to support meaningful change.
Jorgia integrates cognitive behavioural approaches, somatic perspectives, and EMDR-informed techniques where appropriate. The goal is not simply to understand why distress exists, but to develop practical ways of responding that support greater emotional wellbeing, resilience, and day-to-day functioning.
What Individual Counselling Can Help You Work Toward
Individual counselling is about more than just coping. It's about reducing distress, building more effective ways of responding, and feeling more in control of your day-to-day.
Over time, you may start to notice that you:
Understand your emotions instead of feeling ruled by them
Respond differently to anxiety, stress, and difficult thoughts
Interrupt the patterns that used to feel automatic
Quiet the inner critic and speak to yourself more reasonably
Set clearer boundaries at work and in relationships
Move toward goals that feel aligned, and actually take steps toward them
Trust yourself more and second-guess yourself less
Feel calmer, more grounded, and more in control

A brief, no-pressure call to understand what brought you here, what you'd like to work on, and whether Jorgia's approach is the right fit. There's no commitment to continue. If counselling isn't the right step right now, or Jorgia isn't the right counsellor for you, she'll say so and point you in a useful direction.
-
Both. The majority of Jorgia's clients meet in-person at her Montréal office, with online sessions available for clients outside the city or those with occasional scheduling constraints. Most clients start in-person when possible, as the setting tends to support deeper focus during sessions.
-
Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients begin weekly or every two weeks, then adjust the cadence as the work evolves and things stabilize.
-
Many extended health plans in Canada cover sessions with a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend confirming directly with your insurer that CCC services are included.
